Sonny Bouraima and Sigrún Eva Jónsdóttir-Bouraima are a Reykjavík-based creative couple co-running Grounded Creative Studios, their own casting and production studio. Sonny is a musician and Head of community, events, and store operations at Fischersund, while Sigrún leads production at Fischersund. Together, they’re raising their daughter in the city center, blending Icelandic and Ivorian roots into a family rhythm shaped by art, culture, and everyday rituals.
Sonny took a moment just before the start of Advent to tell us about the family’s holiday traditions and more.
What is your favorite Christmas memory?
Our favorite Christmas memory probably isn't a single moment. It's watching our daughter experience the season as she gets older. You know, each year her excitement grows, and being on the other side of that magic as a parent feels just as special as it was when we were kids.
What’s your favorite 66°North product?
I’d probably say the scent Útilykt, perhaps for obvious reasons, but I just find it a very fascinating blend of the two worlds of 66°North and Fischersund. And I’m pretty sure Sigrún would name her new sunglasses from 66°North and District Vision, which she’s been using a lot, both for running outdoors and just in the car when the sun is low in the sky.

What’s on your wish list?
Uh, I'd say that our wish list is pretty simple this year. New iPad, a couple of photography books, and my daughter really wants a trip to Tenerife, so that's the wish list right now.
What’s an inseparable part of Christmas for you?
Snow. I'd say snow, it's inseparable for us because without snow it just doesn't feel like Christmas has actually arrived yet.
