This year 66°North marks 100 years alongside the Icelandic nation. To celebrate, we have created a capsule collection celebrating 10 styles – 10 decades. Each style represents an iconic product introduced in that decade. Whether that’s the classic fisherman’s anorak from 1926 or our most versatile shell jacket from 2011 - Snæfell.

1926-1936

Born from necessity. Built for survival. Slippurinn is a contemporary interpretation of the original fisherman’s anorak, reimagined in GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER with archive-inspired details. The anorak features a wide neckline opening with snap-button closure, along with signature triangle panels at the sides and shoulders. An oversized eyelet on the hood allows the jacket to be easily hung when not in use. Snap-button sleeve plackets and a rope adjustment at the bottom hem allow for a customizable fit. The design is finished with the iconic triangle patch at the front, an embroidered box logo on the chest and “Since 1926” embroidery at the back neck.

The 100-Year Capsule brings the 66°North archive into the present; the collection reflects the changing needs, technologies and styles that have shaped 66°North. The design team worked closely with the company’s extensive archive, selecting pieces that capture significant moments in the brand’s history and creating modern updates. Many of these products are still part of the brands collection today, now reimagined with new tweaks and updates.

Each capsule piece also features a specially developed woven label containing information about the style and the decade it represents.
