Dyngja down collection
For over a century, we’ve designed clothing for life in Iceland, where weather can change quickly and protection from the elements matters.
Down is one of nature’s most effective insulators. Lightweight and highly efficient at trapping warmth, it provides exceptional protection from the cold without unnecessary weight.
Inspired by classic 66°North down products originally designed in the early 2000s, the Dyngja [Dean-gjah] collection is designed to keep you warm and provide ease of movement for city life and outdoor winter adventures

Dyngja down jacket
Shift seamlessly between city life and time in nature with the Dyngja down jacket. Designed and tested in Iceland, it is lightweight yet warm and windproof.
The jacket features a two-way YKK Vislon front zipper with a snap-secured wind placket to help prevent wind from entering through the zipper. Two zipped front pockets and one zipped internal pocket provide secure storage.
A high collar offers added protection from the wind, while the detachable hood allows for easy adaptation to changing weather conditions. To secure the hood and prevent the zipper from opening, lay the pull tab flat against the zipper teeth, following the path of the zipper.
A drawstring at the waist allows you to adjust the fit for added comfort and protection.

Down fill power
Down insulation works by trapping warm air within its fine, lofted structure, creating an insulating barrier between the body and the cold. This provides an exceptional warmth-to-weight ratio, delivering effective insulation without unnecessary weight or bulk.
Fill power measures the loft and insulating efficiency of down, indicating how much space the down occupies and, in turn, how effectively it can trap air. The higher the fill power, the greater the insulating efficiency relative to its weight. This means higher fill-power down can provide the same level of warmth with less material, resulting in insulation that is lighter, less bulky and more compressible.
While fill power is not a measurement of a garment’s overall warmth, it is an indication of the efficiency and quality of the down insulation. Combined with the amount of down used and the garment’s construction, it helps determine how warm, lightweight and packable the finished product will be.
ll down used in 66°North products is from our long-term partner in Germany which holds certificates for Responsible Down Standards, Downpass, The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, and VET certification.
